Abstract

In an era of rapid technological change and intense competition, strategic agility has become a critical determinant of organizational success. This study investigates the relationship between strategic agility and firm performance within the dynamic Nigerian telecommunications sector. Using a mixed-methods approach, we collected survey data from 150 senior managers and conducted in-depth interviews with 10 top executives. Our quantitative analysis, employing structural equation modeling, reveals a significant positive correlation between strategic agility—conceptualized through its dimensions of strategic sensitivity, resource fluidity, and collective commitment—and firm performance, measured by both financial and non-financial metrics. The qualitative findings provide nuanced insights into the specific agile practices that enable firms to navigate market uncertainties and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The study concludes with practical implications for managers seeking to enhance their organization's adaptive capabilities and a framework for future research on strategic agility in emerging markets.
